Through the Baruch Scholars program, entering freshmen are eligible for comprehensive scholarships that provide tuition coverage for four years of study. In addition to paid fall and spring semesters, the scholarship provides stipends totaling more than $1,000 in order to help students study abroad. Benefits are not solely financial, however. Each Baruch Scholar receives a MacBook Air laptop and is invited to take a thirteen-week seminar in which they are acclimated to both the college and scholarship requirements by scholarship advisors and mentors.
Requirements of becoming a Baruch Scholar are challenging. Recipients are chosen by invitation and must maintain a schedule of at least 12 credits and at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA. Additionally, Baruch Scholars must attend a cultural or program-sponsored event each semester and complete at least 15 hours of community service annually. Certain majors include additional requirements, and all Baruch Scholars must attend advising sessions each semester.
