Considered an expert in creating business strategies that bring beneficial medical treatments to fruition, Steve Kanzer possesses a track record of success in establishing pharmaceutical research and development companies. In his current capacity as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the venture capital firm Accredited Ventures, Inc., and the investment bank Accredited Equities, Inc., he backs new medical technologies that are considered commercially viable and that fulfill an unmet medical need, and anticipates the time for market approval to determine the proper licensing, funding, structure, and other considerations related to launching new medical technology enterprises. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Steve Kanzer understands the complicated nature of drug development endeavors, as well as such matters as finance and product development.
In addition to his ongoing work with Accredited Ventures and Accredited Equities, Kanzer serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of Synthetic Biologics. In 2012, the company changed its name from Adeona Pharmaceuticals to more accurately reflect its current research initiatives. Having made significant contributions to the treatment of multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the company is pioneering new technologies that utilize synthetic DNA to potentially treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, a serious life-threatening disease that often strikes young women. Since founding Adeona Pharmaceuticals, Steve Kanzer has served the company as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President. He also undertook executive roles at Adeona subsidiaries, including CD4 Biosciences, Inc., Putney Drug Corporation, Effective Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Solovax, Inc. Over the span of his career, he established a number of pharmaceutical firms in the United States and privatized the largest government-owned pharmaceutical research institute in Eastern Europe, serving as its CEO thereafter. A certified public accountant and attorney, Mr. Kanzer focused on the legal area of mergers and acquisitions when he practiced with the New York law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP. He earned his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law after completing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at Baruch College. Having attended undergraduate school on a full scholarship, Steve Kanzer graduated magna cum laude and was named a Baruch Scholar. |
